Magicshop wanted to improve global sales, mobile user experience and reliability with a full website rebuild built on the world class Magento e-commerce platform.
Our goal was to:
- Data Migration from existing ENCart platform
- Streaming video service integration
- Reward points
- Hubspot integration
- Order archive access for previous invoices
Challenge
Magicshop wanted to push to the next level of e-commerce, retiring their existing OSCommerce based platform for Magento. With an already highly transactional site, it was imperative a solid migration and build plan was developed.
Sales were a mix of virtual video steaming, stocked products and drop ship. We needed to re-design and develop the legacy features of the previous platform into bespoke Magento extensions. An extensive customer data migration process was needed to ensure a smooth website transformation.
Outcome
Responsive Design
We designed and built a responsive layout enabling Magicshop to finally capture mobile sales. Including Currency / VAT switchers and an intelligent search. Built on the Magento platform we were able to use the latest CDN services and server side performance features for a fast page load time.
Data migration
We developed a migration synchronisation application running from Magicshop’s existing legacy store – migrating new and existing products and customer data to Magento, Including; Customer credentials, passwords, addresses, Reward Points, Orders, Products and Categories.
Streaming video products
We needed to fully re-engineer the integration for Magicshop’s video steaming service in to Magento, ensuring all features were replaced to provide the end user a feature rich experience purchasing and viewing the streaming videos. Along with admin panel features for resend orders and Sync product data / images.

Launch
After full quality assurance testing – we handled a seamless domain migration with minimal downtime. We disconnected the legacy data sync and performed post live checks and SEO. Supporting and reviewing analytics with Magicshop to ensure usability and sales were improved.
