MagicShop wanted to improve global sales, mobile user experience and reliability with a full website rebuild built on the world class Magento eCommerce platform.
MagicShop.co.uk is the online face of The Merchant of Magic, the UK’s largest and most respected magic shop!
They supply and manufacture magic tricks, books, DVDs and accessories to both professional and amateur magicians worldwide.
Our goal was to perform data migration from the existing ENCart platform, introduce a streaming video service, rewards points and Hubspot integration, and an order archive access for previous invoices.

The challenge
Magicshop wanted to push to the next level of eCommerce, retiring their existing OSCommerce based platform for Magento. With an already highly transactional site, it was imperative a solid migration and build plan was developed. Sales were a mix of virtual video steaming, stocked products and drop ship. We needed to re-design and develop the legacy features of the previous platform into bespoke Magento extensions.
Responsive design
We designed and built a responsive layout enabling Magicshop to finally capture mobile sales. Including Currency / VAT switchers and an intelligent search. Built on the Magento platform we were able to use the latest CDN services and server side performance features for a fast page load time.
Data migration
We developed a migration synchronisation application running from Magicshop’s existing legacy store – migrating new and existing products and customer data to Magento, Including; Customer credentials, passwords, addresses, Reward Points, Orders, Products and Categories.
