Epson UK wanted to create a ‘go green’ marketing campaign
We wanted to ensure it had an innovative messaging/creative, avoiding marketing clichés with a theme that could run throughout the year.
Goals included:
- Create an inspiring and innovative campaign identity
- Deliver this identity across multiple assets
- Promote and increase knowledge of Epson products with 4 key messages:
Go Green and Save, Go Green and Create, Go Green and Grow and finally Go Green and Share
Challenge
Epson are always keen to try new ideas, particularly in a space that is saturated with traditional ‘go green’ messaging.
Xigen worked through several design workshops, working with the team at Epson to create various options for the creative, focusing on the key points of innovation, creativity, engagement and longevity. The creative needed to work on landing pages, emails, flyers, postcards and animated and static banners, for a campaign that would run for 1 year and be served to many different channels.
Outcome
Iconic characters
Having worked through a few different design concepts, everyone agreed that Sid the Sheep (along with companion Sheila) would become the ambassador for the Go Green campaign and serve as the creative muse for everything related to the campaign.
Strong and engaging
This gave the campaign an incredibly strong and engaging foundation, allowing Xigen to adapt the creative for the Save, Create, Grow and Share ideas. The output was a bright, engaging and fun way of delivering the key messaging of ‘Technology in harmony with ecology’.
Award-nominated design
The campaign was also shortlisted for the Marketing Campaign of the Year at the 2016 BusinessGreen Leaders Awards 2016.
